Willow’s Wisdom on the Rocks: Beginning to trust your body’s wisdom

You can repress and deny what your body is telling you, but it will resurface as a symptom in the body system

Your body never lies. I am going to be writing as series on how to trust the wisdom of your body. The body has a consciousness, and unlike the ego or the mind, it can’t be tortured into submission. Yes, you can repress and deny what your body is telling you, but it will either resurface as a symptom or a disease in the energy of the body system.

The Body’s messages

How many times as a cyclist have you complained about heavy, tired legs, a chronic sore back or exhaustion that just won’t quit? How about irritability and impatience and self-loathing after a “poor” performance? My mission is to help you tune into the body’s warning signals before you ever have to have a big, red, flashing light go off again.

No matter how many times you have become angry at your legs for failing you in a race, you can begin NOW to recognize your body as your best friend, rather than a mass of flesh that just doesn’t do what you want it to do!

Begin By Allowing Your Body to Speak to You

All day, every day, your body wants to communicate with you. Intuition is not reserved for psychics, each of you have your own intuition. Simply put, intuition is perception via the non-visible. It is knowing without seeing.

When you know what to eat for breakfast or what line to take through the rock garden, that is intuition. I am going to share a muscle-testing technique you can use to validate your intuition, and to assist you in forming a trusting relationship with your body.

The Technique

Begin by standing up straight with your feet flat on the floor. Take a deep breath. Rub or tap the thymus point on your chest (the sore spot on both sides of your breastbone). Ask your body to show you a “yes.” You should tip slightly forward. Ask your body to show you a “no.” You should tip slightly back.

The word thymus comes from the Greek word thymos which means “life energy.” The thymus gland lies just beneath the upper part of the breastbone in the middle of the chest. Its role is in keeping your own life energy vibrating in high frequency. When the thymus gland is in harmony can increase your strength and vitality.

Now ask your body if your name is Willow. You will get a no! Now ask your body if you are your name. You will get a yes. Now that you know your body is trustworthy, you can ask any question you desire.

Intention Is Everything

When I muscle test, I prefer to preface my questions with “Is it in my highest and best good to (fill in the blank).” I have chosen to take it to that level, but you can just ask yes or no questions. For example, “should I have coffee this morning?” If your body says yes, have coffee! If your body says no, try to honor its wisdom. There is no right or wrong, only what is best for you.

Your body gives you messages from the divine intelligence behind the universe, and only you can choose to listen. I believe you will find that your intuition was right in the first place, and your body will affirm that.

Practice these simple skills this week, and next week I will introduce how to use your intuition and muscle testing in your training “program.”
