Stage 15: Lyon to Grand Colombier
The presence of three soaring climbs in the final 70km creates a battlefield for the GC contenders. The stage concludes with the summit finish to Grand Colombier (17.4km at 7.1%), which will favor the race’s best climber.

Stage 15 preview
Course: The focus returns to the GC as the Tour takes in two soaring climbs in the Jura mountains (Montée de la Selle de Fromentel, Col de la Biche) before finishing up the Grand Colombier, which boasts hors catégorie status this year. Look out for a hopeful GC star to attack early to try and shake up the pecking order.
Favorites: Egan Bernal, Nairo Quintana, Chris Froome, Primož Roglič

Jens Voigt’s take: The day before the second rest day we will see a super hard stage in the Alps with a mountain-top finish. The Grand Colombier figured many times in the Tour, but today it will be the absolute center of attention. This is one of the biggest days for the GC, and everyone who has a little bit of power left will participate in a hopefully epic battle for the stage and yellow. Again, I expect a showdown between Team Jumbo-Visma and Team Ineos. But who knows, maybe Nairo Quintana will have a word as well.
