Stage 13 preview
Course: On paper this may not appear to be one of the hardest days. Make no mistake, the 4,400 meters of total climbing (14,435 feet) across the windswept Massif Central will sap everyone’s legs before the Tour’s first ever hilltop finish to Puy Mary. The final ascent has ramps above 14 percent, so expect the GC stars to attack to gain valuable seconds.
Favorites: Julian Alaphilippe, Alejandro Valverde, Primož Roglič, Nairo Quintana

Jens Voigt’s take: After yesterday’s long stage, today is up and down all day. The peloton will climb above 1,000 meters in altitude six times today, plus a number of smaller climbs. And, the hilltop finish awaits after a very steep pitch. As a GC rider you can gain or lose precious seconds right here. I expect a thrilling finish with all the big guns. I will go all-out and say: tonight I can tell who will win in Paris.
