What to know

Every year Bora-Hansgrohe enters the Tour de France with a two-pronged approach: Win the points competition with Peter Sagan and then back a budding German rider for GC. Sagan has become so adept at winning the green jersey that he requires fewer and fewer resources each year, and this Tour appears to be no different. Bora-Hansgrohe’s bigger challenge will be helping climber Emanuel Buchmann reach the podium. Buchmann was 4th in 2019, and the team is hoping he can take a step forward. Also look for Max Schachmann to go for stage wins.

Our take

Peter Sagan is a one-man wrecking ball for stage wins, and we cannot wait to follow him during the hilly stages at this year’s Tour. Buchmann’s push for the podium is a compelling storyline to follow, but it’s nowhere near as exciting as Sagan’s push for an eighth green jersey.
