VeloNews is seeking a technical editor based in Boulder, Colorado. We’re looking for someone who is equally adept at wrenching, riding, and writing

VeloNews is seeking a technical editor based in Boulder, Colorado.

We’re looking for someone who is equally adept at wrenching, riding, and writing.

A deep interest in the technical aspect of cycling, across all disciplines but with a particular emphasis on road racing, is the foremost requirement.

The full-time position is responsible for tech content on VeloNews.com and inside Velo Magazine and includes the opportunity to travel to cycling events, both in U.S. and abroad.

Responsibilities:

– Direct editorial tech coverage online and in print
– Foster industry relationships
– Deliver well-written copy as directed by the Editor and other staff
– Edit copy submitted by contributors and freelancers
– Organize VeloLab comprehensive bike reviews
– Cover racing technology on-site, delivering copy and high-quality photos in a timely fashion
– Source and organize product for review
– Source original stories and content for VeloNews.com and Velo Magazine
– Conduct interviews
– Manage a positive social media brand
– Attend annual tradeshows
– Research and write long form features

Skills and qualifications:

– Strong editorial and writing skills
– Strong digital photography skills, including use of Adobe products like Photoshop
– Strong mechanical background, with a thorough comprehension of bicycle technology
– Media experience
– Excellent time-management
– Excellent communication
– Knowledge of French, Spanish, or Italian a plus
