Olympic champion, Tour de France champion, and world hour record holder Bradley Wiggins found himself running up a hill, aptly named “The Struggle” at Tour of Britain Tuesday. For his part, Wiggins managed to keep a sense of humor about the moment, perhaps even clowning on Chris Froome’s running incident on Mont Ventoux at this year’s Tour in July.
Another July all-star, Mark Cavendish, who this year won his 30th career Tour de France stage, was not so pleased with The Struggle. On the 4.5km long climb, which has an eight percent average gradient and pitches up to 20 percent, Cav stopped to accost a fan.

Another Brit, Ian Stannard, had a much better day by comparison. Stannard, one of Wiggins’s former Sky teammates, won stage 3 in a solo breakaway.
