UCI renews licenses for three races, including Flanders

All three spring races will continue at least through 2016

Three notable events on the UCI WorldTour calendar had their licenses renewed for three more years, the UCI announced in a press release on Thursday.

The Amstel Gold Race, Ronde van Vlaanderen (Tour of Flanders), and the Tour de Romandie will all continue through 2016 after being granted a three-year license.

The Amstel Gold Race was first held in 1966, Flanders began in 1913, and Romandie started in 1947. Romandie is a six-day race in Switzerland, while Amstel (Netherlands) and Flanders (Belgium) are one-day classics.

All three races are held in April.
