Canada’s Spidertech and the U.S.’s Team Type 1 will be among the field for the 47th Presidential Tour of Turkey.
Organizers revealed on the official race web site that the two North American teams will be among the 21-squad field to line up for the eight-stage race that’s steadily grown in stature over the past years.
Six ProTeams, including Garmin-Cervélo, 13 Pro Continental squads and two Continental teams will race from Istanbul to Alanya. New dates, April 24 to May 1, a full week ahead of the Giro d’Italia, and a new, hors categorie rating will give the race even more importance in 2011.
Last year, Tejay van Garderen (HTC-HighRoad) finished second overall to Giovanni Visconti in an exciting battle that went down to the final stage.
