Slipstream Sports Announces New Women’s Team Partnership

Slipstream Sports will maintain and manage the business aspects of the AA Women’s Pro Cycling Team

Slipstream Sports, the management company responsible for Garmin-Barracuda, announced Friday that is has entered into a partnership with AA to maintain and manage the business aspects of the AA Women’s Pro Cycling Team, while the current organization will remain responsible for race logistics.

Slipstream Sports CEO Jonathan Vaughters expressed his excitement by saying, “We are pleased to partner with AA” He added, “Michael Zijlaard has built a strong organization and we are excited to work with him to combine our strengths. The 2012 team looks strong and we believe it will be a great year ahead.”

AA Team manager Michael Zijlaard returned the kind words of Vaughters by saying, “We are excited to work with Slipstream Sports.” He then outlined the teams 2012 ambitions by stating, “I am convinced that we will be competitive on all fronts, from the Olympic Games, to the World Championships, to the Tour of Italy.” Zijlaard continues to explain that, “Superstars Emma Pooley and Lizzie Armitstead add huge firepower to an already strong team and we are excited to start the season.”

As part of the agreement, the entire team will be riding Cervélo bikes.
