Francisco Mancebo (5-Hour Energy) and Alison Powers (NOW and Novartis for MS) wrapped up overall victories in the USA Cycling National Racing Calendar last month, but the series officially ended over the weekend and there was a shift in the results on the men’s side.
Joseph Rosskopf (Hincapie Sportswear Development) finished 12th in the Thompson Bucks County Classic in Doylestown, Pa. on Saturday to earn 28 points, moving him up to second overall with 556 points — significantly lower than Mancebo’s 814. Chad Haga (Optum-Kelly Benefit Strategies) placed third overall in the NRC rankings with 554 points.
Kiel Rejnen (UnitedHealthcare), who won the race and was awarded 200 points, jumped up to fourth overall in the season standings with 452 points. Taking fifth was Serghei Tvetcov (Jelly Belly) with 428.
The men’s team standings were also shaken up, with Optum finishing first with 1,738 points ahead of Jamis-Hagens Berman (1,186) and 5-Hour Energy (1,160).
The women’s calendar ended in August at Tour of the Elk Grove, so there were no changes to those standings.
