PORTO-VECCHIO, France (AFP) — Tom Dumoulin (Giant-Shimano) took the overall lead in the Criterium International after winning stage 2, a 7km individual time trial.

Nacer Bouhanni (FDJ.fr) won the morning’s first stage, an 89km road race.

Dumoulin prevailed in the short race against the clock ahead of Rohan Dennis and Bob Jungels.

He will wear the yellow jersey in Sunday’s third stage, a 176km race to the summit of the Col de l’Ospedale.
