Sport 24: Ullrich to come clean?
Manager Falk Nier suggests to the German press agency Deutsche Presse-Agentur that Jan Ullrich might follow former teammates such as Eric Zabel and Bjarne Riis and admit to have used banned substances during his career, highlighted by the 1996 Tour de France title and his battles with Lance Armstrong. Ullrich is awaiting a ruling from the Court of Arbitration for Sport on an appeal by the UCI and WADA of the Swiss cycling federation’s decision to end an inquiry into charges that Ullrich was involved in the infamous and ongoing Operación Puerto scandal.
BBC Sport: Millar won’t challenge lifetime Olympics ban
The World Anti-Doping Agency says the British Olympic Association’s stance is at odds with WADA policy, but David Millar doesn’t intend to challenge it. The 34-year-old Scot, who was banned in 2004 after admitting to the use of performance-enhancing drugs, said: “In all honesty, I’d written off the Olympics a long time ago.”
