Mancebo atop NRC standings after Battenkill; Bissell top team

Franciso Mancebo (Competitive Cyclist) leads the National Racing Calendar standings after his victory at Sunday’s Tour of the Battenkill.

Going into the race, Phil Gaimon (Kenda-5-hour Energy) had the lead in the NRC standings, but Mancebo’s victory earned him enough points to take over the top spot. Mancebo now has 226 points to Gaimon’s 217, while Patrick Bevin (Bissell) rounds out the top three with 195.

Team Bissell also had a strong performance at the Cambridge, New York, race placing two riders in the top 10. This catapulted them to the top of the team standings with 390 points over Optum-Kelly Benefit Strategies at 358, and in third place now is last week’s leader Kenda, at 355.

The women’s standings remained the same. Megan Guarnier (TIBCO-To the Top) leads the women with 237 points over Joelle Numainville (Optum) and Alison Powers (NOW-Novartis for MS) with 161 and 155, respectively.
