Ivan Basso, who was forced to abandon the Tour of the Basque Country earlier this month with a cold, is back in the saddle for the season’s penultimate spring classic at Flèche Wallonne on Sunday.

Basso was stricken with a cold that made the rounds at the Liquigas-Cannondale squad during Tirreno-Adriatico. Team doctors said he is back in good health to race, but Basso cautioned he won’t be at his best.

“I am very motivated to get back to racing, but we’ll see just how well I can do,” Basso said Tuesday in a team release. “I like the (Flèche) course and we bring a competitive team. If am not up to the job, I will help out my teammates.”

Also lining up with be Timmy Duggan, back in the saddle for the first time since the Volta a Catalunya in late March.
