Cancellara denies report that he’ll skip the Tour

"Swiss Time Machine" says he will make a decision on the Tour after the classics season

DOHA (AFP) — Fabian Cancellara (RadioShack-Leopard) on Tuesday denied having already declined to participate in the 2013 Tour de France, thus denying comments reported Saturday by the Swiss newspaper Blick.
At a press conference held after the third stage of the Tour of Qatar, the four-time world champion asked reporters not to rely on these statements, explaining that he would make a decision on the Tour after the classics.
Cancellara denied the Blick story on Twitter over the weekend: “Dont belive what you read global regarding my raceprogramm. #Full fokus for the #classics after that i will rest, and decide with the team.”

According to Blick, Cancellara, who has won seven stages of the Tour, renounced the 2013 edition because of the absence of a prologue or time trial early on in Corsica. Cancellara won the 2012 prologue to take the yellow jersey through the Tour’s opening week.
