GC remained unaffected, with Chris Baldwin (Toyota-United) holding a 22-second margin on Scott Moninger (Health Net-Maxxis) and 1:42 on Burke Swindlehurst (Navigators). Armstrong continues to lead the women’s race, with Anne Samplonius (Team Biovail) second at 1:02 and Erinne Willock (Webcor) third at 1:19.

All bets will be settled Sunday during the Gila Monster Road Race. The men face a 100-mile loop from Silver City to Pinos Altos with 9360 feet of climbing. Women will race an abbreviated loop, covering 66 miles with 5420 feet of climbing.
