USA Cycling announces 2015 NRC and NCC schedules

NRC schedule shrinks to seven races, while the NCC adds three new dates for 2015

On Tuesday, USA Cycling announced the complete National Criterium Calendar (NCC) and National Road Calendar (NRC) for the 2015 season.

NRC down to seven races

With the loss of the Cascade Cycling Classic, the NRC race schedule will be limited to only seven races in 2015, however, there have been three UCI dates added to both the men’s and women’s calendar for 2015.

Redlands Bicycle Classic in Redlands, California will kick the season off in April, while Thompson Bucks County Classic will wrap up the calendar in Pennsylvania on September 12.

The 2014 NRC individual series winners were Travis McCabe (Team SmartStop) and Lauren Stephens (Team TIBCO-To the Top). Optum-Kelly Benefit Strategies topped the NRC men’s team standings, while Team TIBCO-To the Top won dominated the NRC women’s team standings.

June 7: Philly Cycling Classic (UCI 1.2), Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
June 18-21: North Star Grand Prix, Minneapolis, Minnesota
September 12: Thompson Bucks County Classic (UCI 1.2, men only), Doylestown, Pennsylvania

NCC adds three dates in 2015

With the addition of three races to the NCC in 2015, the season will begin in Tampa, Florida on March 21 and conclude on September 20 in Hartford, Connecticut.

The 2014 season saw Luke Keough (UnitedHealthcare) clinch the men’s title in the 2014 NCC men’s standings while Erica Allar (Colavita-Fine Cooking) topped the NCC women’s standings for the second straight year. UnitedHealthcare rode away with the NCC men’s team standings while Colavita-Fine Cooking won the NCC women’s team standings.
