With two months and two weeks to go, the courses are secured, sponsors are in line, and racers are tweaking their fitness; the 2004 Trek Bikes Collegiate National Championships in Madison, Wisconsin, are going to be an incredible three days of racing.
Exciting news to announce is the Waterloo Team Time Trial on May 23, 2004. This event will start bright ‘n’ early at 8 a.m. at the Trek Factory in Waterloo, Wisconsin. The course is a rocking 30km out and back with a few rollers along the way. This is the final day of racing in the three-event championship. Friday highlights the TIAA-CREF Criterium on Madison’s State Street, and Saturday plays host to the Trek Bikes Road Race in Black Earth, Wisconsin.
The 2004 Trek Bikes Collegiate National Championships will draw over 400 of the fastest collegiate racers from across the country as well as an assortment of international racers attending American universities.
Also in attendance at this event will be Tour de France legends Jonathan Vaughters and Greg LeMond, as well as former 7-Eleven and USPRO champion Tom Schuler.
New to collegiate nationals this year will be impressive prizes for the new-crowned champions. The fastest man will receive an invitation to join the TIAA-Cref 5280 Cycling Team and a new racing bike. The fastest woman will receive an invitation to race for the Quark Cycling Team and also receive a new racing bike.
