National Day of Listening 2012: From their hands to yours at Mosaic

The men behind the Mosaic custom shop talk about craft, group rides and racing

BOULDER, Colorado (VN) — Titanium shavings gleam on the floor, a tattooed, bearded man hovers over a laptop and Kanye West spills from the stereo. Machines blur the spaces between thoughts and conversations, and beautiful, hand-built titanium bikes decorate hooks on the wall.

It’s Tuesday morning at Boulder’s Mosaic Custom Performance Bicycles, a custom bike company located in the industrial area north of downtown. Founder Aaron Barcheck and his right-hand man, Kevin Batchelor, saw down with us for an hour to discuss making bikes, group rides and their favorite moments in racing. We hope you enjoy the chat — we certainly did.
