Meanwhile, there are a number of races and events in the weeks leading up to the World Championships. The Velirium Mountain Bike Festival is made up of:
• Downhill Quebec Cup – Aug. 14-15
• Cross-country Quebec Cup, Freeride Cup and kids race – Aug. 21-22
• Raid Vélo Mag – Aug. 28-29
The Raid Vélo Mag includes a two-day format. A second race day will
be added to the traditional endurance from Québec City to Mont-Sainte-Anne
(about 35 and 75 km), with two backcountry race courses of about 30 and 50km. In those new sections, long-distance enthusiasts will get their fill of singletrack, forest trails, and moose wintering yards. A maximum of 1,500 people will be able to take part in the event.
