British Columbia-based Rocky Mountain Bicycles will be the bike sponsor for the 2010 BC Bike Race.
“Partnering with BCBR was a natural fit. To have a race of this caliber in our own back yard is a great opportunity for us,” said Pete Roggeman Rocky Mountain Bicycles marketing manager.
Rocky Mountain and race organizers have worked together on the race in the past, but Roggeman said the company decided to get more involved in the event, with the parties reaching a multi-year agreement early this spring.
“They’re a BC company with an accomplished history of racing and we look forward to a long partnership with them,” said Dean Payne, BC Bike Race founder.
From June 27 to July 4, participants and the general public will have the opportunity to demo Rocky Mountain Bikes, have their Rocky Mountain bikes tuned up by factory mechanics and hang out with Rocky Mountain team racers vying for the 2010 BC Bike Race title.
“We’re coming with some of our best racers and some new technology up our sleeves. We think we’ve got the perfect weapon for this race,” said Roggeman.
The fourth running of the seven-stage BC Bike Race runs June 27 to July 4 and will take riders from Vancouver, BC to Whistler, BC.
