We here at Singletrack.com thought it’d be a good idea to offer up a little World Cup goodness from over the years as round #2 is set for this weekend in the UK’s Dalby Forest.
Since getting up and running around the time of the 2009 mountain bike world championships in Australia, Singletrack.com has had the good fortune to collaborate with photographer Frank Bodenmüller.
Frank has captured the essence of world-class mountain biking for years with a laser-like lens wielded by an artful eye. That melding of technical proficiency and aesthetic touch can be seen in cycling magazines the world over. But to get a real feel for Frank’s work and the sport we all love, the best place to look is in his book, MTB Professional Mountain Biking (Frank Bodenmüller & Tanja Borgschulte), which was released last year.
The 240-page book captures all the names and places associated with elite mountain biking — Frischknect, Absalon, Premont, Peat, Gracia, World Cups and world championships from New Zealand and South Africa to Italy and Canada.
