Jeremy Horgan-Kobelski and Georgia Gould swept the weekend at Colorado’s Chalk Creek Stampede, the second stop of the US Cup Triple Crown.
Horgan-Kobelski, Subaru-Gary Fisher, and Gould, Luna Pro Team, won their respective pro short-track and Super D races on Saturday in Nathrop, Colorado. Then each won their cross-country races on Sunday.
Gould out-paced Kelli Emmett, Giant, and Katie Compton, Planet Bike, in the XC. It was Compton’s first mountain bike race of the season before heading to Europe for the third stop of the World Cup season May 22-23 in Offenburg, Germany.
Horgan-Kobelski finished ahead of Jay Henry, Tokyo Joe’s, and Sid Taberlay, ShoAir-Specialized.
Each race in the Triple Crown series includes cross-country, Super D and short track. A rider’s best two of three events will be calculated to crown a winner at each race and ultimately the overall series champion. For more on series structure and guidelines go here.
The Triple Crown’s stop at Chalk Creek was part of the Mountain States Cup series. The third and final stop is at Massanutten Resort in Virginia June. 19-20.
