Bob Roll Hosting SoCal High School MTB Fundraiser

Also attending SoCal league benefit are Southern California-based riders Pua Sawicki, Brian Lopes and Sid Taberlay.

Don't miss a moment from Paris-Roubaix and Unbound Gravel, to the Giro d’Italia, Tour de France, Vuelta a España, and everything in between when you join Outside+.

A fundraising dinner to benefit high school mountain biking in Southern California will take place aboard the historic Queen Mary ocean liner Nov. 21.

CycleFest 2009 will be hosted by former pro cyclist-turned commentator Bob Roll. Also onboard for the evening will be Southern California-based riders Pua Sawicki, 24 Hour Solo National Champion 2005-07-08; Brian Lopes, Mountain Biking Hall of Fame member; and Sid Taberlay, five-time Australian National Champion.

The SoCal Cycling League was formed in 2008, with 14 teams and 100 young racers. It is patterned on the successful NorCal league that boasts some 500 riders.

The SoCal CycleFest evening starts with cocktails, appetizers and a silent auction. Following the auction, there will be a catered dinner and a few words from Roll.

All proceeds benefit the SoCal Interscholastic Cycling League. Find out more about Cyclefest 2009.

The SoCal Interscholastic Cycling League is part of the National Interscholastic Cycling Assocation, which along with the NorCal and SoCal leagues, is set to launch leagues in Colorado and Washington in 2010 and 2011.
