Electromuscle Stimulation Specialist Contour Technology Joins Sponsor Lineup of Health and Wellness Leaders
Minneapolis, Minn., January 29, 2008 – Jonas Carney’s sophomore squad, Kelly Benefit Strategies/Medifast adds a major new partner this week, continuing to build what is perhaps the most impressive roster of leading health and wellness sponsors on the North American Circuit. Minneapolis based electromuscle stimulation (eStim) leader Contour Technology joins the line up effective immediately.
“This is amazing news for the continued growth of our team as well as the overall well being of our guys,” says performance director Jonas Carney. “I’ve ridden enough races over the years to know the critical importance of proper muscle recovery. Advanced eStim technologies like Contour will dramatically help our athletes recover faster and more efficiently in minutes, rather than days. That can make a huge difference in longer stage races as well as in training.”
Electro muscle stimulation technology has been around the cycling world for years, but Contour brings a new, improved technology that mimics brainwaves to more effectively communicate to muscles. This means riders can recover faster and build strength during the competitive season while most cyclists see a decline in strength and performance. Contour will be introducing some “firsts” as the 2008 season unfolds.
Dale Henn, President, Contour, well known and respected in the eStim technology market, will launch Contour eStim technology early in 2008 and become an official sponsor of the team when racing starts next month. Athletes currently training in California are already benefiting from the relationship as the newest units have been shipped to them for use in training and long-ride recovery.
“The team is a perfect fit for us,” says Henn. “We were attracted to the amazing progress and success the team has achieved in its first year and the new roster of hot young athletes like David Veilleux and Ben King plus new seasoned pro’s who have joined the squad like Andrew Bajadali and Alex Candelario. We’re looking forward to working closely with Jonas and the team’s athletes to get real feedback on the benefits of our eStim technology that will help not just our riders but everyone using the Contour Muscle Stimulator this season.”
Contour becomes a significant sponsor alongside Kelly Benefit Strategies, a leading healthcare broker and consultant and co-title sponsor Medifast, Inc., the nutritional and weight management replacement meal specialist.
“We’re thrilled to have Contour as a sponsor and partner of the team,” says John Kelly, title sponsor and president Kelly Benefit Strategies. “Our whole program is geared to promoting the benefits of proactive health and wellness to the industry and people involved in the sport of cycling. Having a partner like Contour on board who truly understand the intricacies of proper recovery will be a huge benefit to our squad of athletes, a number of which are coming back from injury in 2007. Plus they really understand our program’s overall focus on health and wellness.”
