It’s all part of a fund raiser to benefit the Junior Development Cycling Fund. The fund, now a part of the USA Cycling Development Foundation, was established to offer travel and training grants to young riders across the U.S.
The Vail dinner with members of the U.S. national team will kick off at 6:00 p.m. at Pepe’s in the Hotel Gasthof Gramshammer. If you’ve been to Vail before you might know of the place by its reputation. At 7:30, dinner guests will head over to Gold Peak to watch the Dual finals and then come back to town at 9:00 for Leigh Donavan’s retirement party – at location yet to be determined.
But that’s not all. Dinner guest will also receive a VIP entry to the next evening’s VW-Trek closing night party at Gerald R. Ford Vilar Pavillion. Dinner guests, athletes and UCI bigwigs enter free at 6:00 p.m., while the public will be admitted at 7:00 p.m. for $12.50 and those procedes will also benefit the Junior Fund.
The party will also be the scene of more formal retirement ceremonies for Leigh Donovan.
You get all of this – dinner, dual finals, Donavan and hangin’ with Hein -for just $125. And that’s scratch that goes directly to a good cause. The event hosts figure that a good chunk of that will be tax-deductible.
