Bicycle Retailer and Industry News reports that Giant Bicycles USA will sell bikes directly to consumers by August. Bike purchasers will have to collect their new rides at a Giant store, so it won’t cut out the middleman entirely. This is similar to how Trek is doing its direct-to-consumer program.
“The way consumers buy bikes and gear is rapidly advancing and we want our retailers to win as the environment transforms here in the U.S.,” Giant USA’s general manager John Thompson said. “Our Giant Web Link is 100 percent committed to helping you grow your retail store’s revenue, profits and business relevance.”
