The Webcor Professional Cycling Team announced Tuesday that 2003 T-Mobile International Winner and NRC overall standings leader Chris Horner will join the Northern California-based team for 2004.

“I look forward to racing with the Webcor Cycling Team and helping them bring it up to the next level,” said Horner.

“This is a huge step forward for Webcor Cycling,” said Ted Huang, team rider and manager. “We’re looking forward to an epic season and to making Chris feel at home here.”

“We’re going to have a great time,” Andy Ball, CEO of Webcor Builders, the team’s title sponsor added.

Horner’s impressive string of victories in 2003 included the Solano Bicycle Classic, Redlands Bicycle Classic, the Tour de Georgia and the T-Mobile International. Horner will join Univest Grand Prix winner Ted Huang and a team of top Northern California riders for an equally ambitious national campaign in 2004.

“We hope to announce the addition of one or two more top riders in the upcoming days,” added Huang.

Webcor Builders continues to be one of the biggest supporters of cycling on the West Coast. In addition to helping the men’s team attract top talent like Horner, the company is also sponsoring a women’s elite team in 2004.

Webcor Builders is one of the country’s leading general contractors, specializing in major construction projects throughout the San Francisco Bay Area and up and down the West Coast.
