“We are thrilled to continue our support for this prestigious event,” said Rich Hincapie, President of Hincapie Sportswear. “This year’s Tour is shaping up to be even bigger and better than last year. Additionally, our portable sublimation technology is helping raise the race to a new level in cycling apparel support. We’re the only company printing leader’s jerseys for the racers on-site. It’s the same technology they use in the Tour de France and we’re proud to be using it in Georgia.”

Hincapie Sportswear will produce five award jerseys for the Tour: GE Energy Best Young Rider jersey, Georgia Lottery Most Aggressive Rider jersey, United Community Bank King of the Mountain jersey, Georgia Power Sprint jersey and AT&T Overall Leader’s jersey. In professional cycling, these jerseys carry honor and prestige for the pro rider who gets to wear it during the next day’s stage. The designs this year from Bigelow Advertising include a touch of Georgia-inspired themes, such as ocean waves to recognize the start on Tybee Island.

Hincapie Sportswear uses advanced portable custom sublimation technology—the same technology used in the Tour de France—to print sponsor and pro team logos onto the jerseys for each category leader every day. This permanent printing is very popular with the riders and ensures that the logos stay on the award jerseys for the life of the product. Hincapie Sportswear is the only manufacturer in the U.S. currently using this technology.

In addition to being the official cycling apparel supplier to the Tour (April 21-27, 2008), Hincapie Sportswear will also have an extended presence throughout the entire week-long event. Fans and race attendees will have the opportunity to purchase official Tour apparel in the Health and Wellness Expo, which is free to the public at each finish line host venue. Official Hincapie apparel will include cycling jerseys, hats and socks.
