PARIS (AFP) — Britain’s Brian Cookson will run for an additional four-year term as president of the UCI, the 64-year-old announced, while speaking Sunday before the Congress of the European Cycling Union in Loulé, Portugal. The meeting was attended by 37 of the 50 member federations.

Cookson has been president of the UCI since 2013, when he won a contentious election, beating out Pat McQuaid. No other candidates have confirmed that they will run against the incumbent as of yet.
