CrossVegas announces preliminary start list for the 2010 race

The race will feature a long list of national champions and other stars from the U.S. and abroad.

The 2010 CrossVegas race will feature eight national champions, three of the world’s top-10 ranked riders in the men’s and women’s field, and most of the previous winners of the race, which is being held for the fourth time.

The preliminary start list’s European national champions includes Italy’s Marco Fontana (Cannondale Factory Racing), France’s Francis Mouray (Francaise des Jeux) , Belgium’s elite category national champion, Geert Wellens (Champion System), Denmark’s Joachim Parbo (KCH Leopard Cycles) and Hungary’s Zoltan Tisza (Tecnofilm Bentonexpressz 2000).

U.S champ Tim Johnson (Cannondale – Cyclocrossworld.com) and Canada’s Geoff Kabush (Team Maxxis-Rocky Mountain) also will attend.

On the women’s side, U.S. champion and two-time CrossVegas winner Katie Compton (Planet Bike) and Czech Republic’s champion Katerina Nash (Team LUNA Chix).

Ryan Trebon (Kona), who won in 2007 and 2008, and Jamey Driscoll (Cannondale – Cyclocrossworld.com), the defending champ, are also expected.
