Manager Steve Owens originally pulled the plug on the team’s start at Battenkill, citing a conflict with foundation activities at the Sunny King Criterium taking place the same weekend in Anniston, Alabama.

“We were able to look at it and move some resources around,” said Owens. “I’ll be flying to New York (Friday) morning and we’re very excited to be taking part in the race.”

Hilton Clarke, Rahsaan Bahati and a full crit squad should be at the start for the third round of the National Racing Calendar in Anniston Saturday.

The Bahati Foundation’s roster for Battenkill includes Bobby Lea, who spent much of the 2009 race in a two-man breakaway with eventual winner Scott Nydam and strongmen Matt Rice and Jason Donald. With their last-minute entry, the team will start the race as a favorite to factor on the front late in the 200km affair.
