Andre Greipel confirms plans to defend Tour Down Under title

Two-time winner Andre Greipel will return to defend his title at the 2011 Tour Down Under, organizers announced on Friday.

Two-time winner Andre Greipel will return to defend his title at the 2011 Tour Down Under, organizers announced on Friday.

Greipel will debut as a member of the Belgian Omega Pharma-Lotto, at the race in South Australia on January 16-23.

The Tour Down Under will be Greipel’s first race for Omega Pharma-Lotto since leaving HTC-Columbia at the end of the 2010 season.

Greipel will be joined on his new team by his former teammates, Adam Hansen and Marcel Sieberg.
