Trek issues voluntary recall for 2014 and 2015 Farley fat bikes
Trek is urging owners of model year 2014 Farley and model year 2015 Farley 6 to bring their bikes to authorized retailers for new parts and a $100 coupon toward any Trek or Bontrager product. The recall addresses an abnormality in the connection between the fork and steerer tube, which has the potential to cause a separation at the base of the steerer tube. To date, no injuries involving the affected models have been reported but the recall affects 4,635 bikes globally, including 2,665 located in the United States. Owners of 2016 and 2017 Farleys are not affected.
Rapha hits a new high (in price) with City Riding collection
Rapha adds two new pieces to its City Riding collection with the Reflective Crew Neck Knit and Reversible Wind Jacket. Like the full collection, each of the new pieces use reflective yarn and detailing for added visibility when riding through busy urban areas. The Crew Neck knitted sweatshirt also employs Rapha’s hidden reflective inner cuff, revealed by rolling up the outer cuffs on the sleeves. The limited edition sweatshirt is made from blended Merino wool and is available for a jaw-dropping $450.
The Reversible Wind Jacket is priced at a less staggering but still expensive $285. At least with this insulated and windproof jacket you feel like you’re getting two for one with the reversible feature. On one side you get Rapha’s signature blue base with reflective white and pink stripes across the chest and white stripe across the left arm. When turned inside out, the jacket provides a subtle look with a simple black base without colorful detailing.

Campagnolo EPS extends compatibility to the Wahoo Elemnt
Campy announced its V3 EPS electronic drivetrain is now compatible with the Wahoo Elemnt GPS computer via Ant+ wireless communication. When Campy launched V3 EPS last year, most of the attention fell on the group’s updated interface that allowed it to communicate wirelessly through Bluetooth with smartphones and the MyCampy app. But there is also a second antenna inside the V3 interface that allows it to communicate via Ant+ and this allows for the compatibility with Wahoo’s Elemnt GPS computer. Thanks to a recently launched firmware update, Wahoo’s increasingly popular head unit now allows cyclists to read exact gear positions and battery charge levels.
New Wheels Mfg hubs hot off the presses
Wheels Manufacturing updated its hub design that places the flanges and bearings as far from the hub center as possible. The company says this creates strong, stiff wheels with a minimum amount of rim flex. The design also features a rear hub shell that extends through the cassette body for reduced axle deflection and bearing wear. Rear hubs are priced at $440 with Enduro stainless bearings or $550 with Enduro Zero ceramic bearings. And the front hubs will be available for $180 and $255 with the stainless and ceramic bearings respectively.

Brooks’s carbon C13 line is now available in three widths to fit a wider range of cyclists. The C13 comes from the company’s Cambium line of saddles that were tested by cycling icon David Millar over the cobbles of Paris-Roubaix. The expanded range of saddles includes three width options in the standard saddle variety as well as three options with cut-outs to relieve pressure. The saddles are available for $220.
