Clement has announced its newest line of performance rubber with the LCV road tire. Named after the Italian town of Lucca — famous for its legendary races and roads — the LCV is the second road-specific tire from a company that was once considered a niche cyclocross and gravel brand.
The high-performance, competition-level LCV tire follows the success of Clement’s Strada LGG road tire. At 240 TPI, the LCV features a vulcanized casing that incorporates varying thread counts, which Clement claims gives the tire both tough and supple qualities. The end result is a 180-gram tire (23mm) with integrated puncture protection. Specialized’s S-Works Turbo, one of the fastest rollers in our recent tire test, weighs 210g (24mm).
“We’re excited to launch this model in three sizes as we continue to expand our line with a keen focus on providing tires that provide superior ride characteristics for the rider,” said Clement Cycling president Donn Kellogg. “The LCV model will provide cyclists with high-performance race capabilities that are part of Clement’s road legacy and include some legendary riders of the road.”
The LCV road clincher will be available in sizes 23mm, 25mm, and 28mm and will retail for $75. Stay tuned for a complete review of these new tires in the coming months.
