Yep, it’s tight, and it hugs the body with a near-elastic fit, but this Assos jersey (we’re not typing that name twice) is shockingly comfortable, thanks to the tailored, women’s-specific cut.
The sleeves are just a touch shorter than we’d prefer, but the cuffs are tight enough to help hold up arm warmers without feeling tight and restrictive. And when we bend over into a riding position, the jersey follows along without bunching or pinching around the shoulders.
This jersey is certainly meant for summer riding. Assos combines a soft fabric for comfort and a lightweight material placed strategically over the back for cooling and moisture management. And it really works. So don’t forget your jacket or vest when venturing out for cooler, shoulder season rides.
Assos doesn’t cut any corners with this jersey. It’s a high-performance piece with technical fabrics for the most serious of racers as well as a stylish top with classic lines and colors (maybe not the volt yellow color option). But the $249 price tag reflects Assos’s uncompromising attitude and puts it as one of the most expensive lightweight jerseys out there.
