No Spaniards for Saxo Bank-Sungard in 2011 Vuelta a España

Saxo Bank-Sungard has confirmed that it will have no Spanish riders in its line-up for this year's Vuelta a España, which starts next Saturday in Benidorm.

Saxo Bank-Sungard has confirmed that it will have no Spanish riders in its line-up for this year’s Vuelta a España, which starts next Saturday in Benidorm.

Alberto Contador, who won this year’s Giro d’Italia before finishing fifth in the Tour de France, decided to skip the year’s third grand tour. Jesus Hernandez, Benjamin Noval and Dani Navarro also have chosen not to participate.

However, Belgian Nick Nuyens, winner of April’s Tour of Flanders, Danish climber Chris Anker Sorensen, and Argentine sprinter Juan Jose Haedo will be flying the Saxo Bank colors in Spain.
