VALKENBERG, Netherlands (AFP) — Russia’s Anton Vorobyev won the under-23 men’s time trial title at the world road championships on Monday.

Vorobyev, 21, finished ahead of Australian pair Rohan Dennis and Damien Howson, who were 44 and 51 seconds off the pace, respectively.

The Russian succeeds last year’s champion Luke Durbridge of Australia and 2010 winner Taylor Phinney of the United States.
