Etixx director caught not wearing seatbelt at Tour de France, banned for a day

Davide Bramati was seen on a video celebrating Tony Martin's stage 4 win

Two days after a video caught Etixx-Quick-Step sport director Davide Bramati celebrating Tony Martin’s stage 4 win, the Italian was banned for stage 6 because he wasn’t wearing a seatbelt.

The video, which has since been removed from the Internet, showed Bramati shouting and celebrating, shaking his fist in triumph after Martin won the stage and seized the yellow jersey.

Authorities must have seen the video too, however, because Tour organizers informed him he would not be allowed to drive or even be in a team car Thursday because he wasn’t buckled in, according to Cycling Weekly.

Bramati reacted to the news on Twitter:

Martin maintained his race lead after Wednesday’s stage 5, holding a 12-second lead over Chris Froome (Sky) and a 25-second advantage over Tejay van Garderen (BMC Racing).
