Damiano Cunego and Alessandro Petacchi will be in the hunt for stage victories as the pair leads Lampre-Farnese Vini at the 2010 Tour de France.

Cunego, the 2004 Giro d’Italia champ, has long given up pretensions of winning the Tour and will be trying to win a mountain stage instead. Cunego’s best Tour was in 2006, when he won the best young rider’s jersey, finished second at L’Alpe d’Huez and rode to 11th overall.

Back in the Tour for the first time since 2004, Petacchi will be keen to prove he still has the kick to challenge in the bunch sprints. A series of debilitating injuries and his controversial doping ban in 2006 kept him from racing the French tour.

Petacchi has won four Tour stages in his career, and will have Danilo Hondo, Grega Bole and Mirco Lorenzetto to lead him out in the bunch sprints.

Lampre-Farnese Vini for Tour de France: Grega Bole (Slo); Damiano Cunego, Mauro Da Dalto, Francesco Gavazzi, Mirco Lorenzetto, Adriano Malori, Alessandro Petacchi (all ITA); Danilo Hondo (GER); Simon Spilak (POL).
