World Cup leader Marianne Vos made it two-for-two on the women’s circuit Sunday, winning the Trofeo Alfredo Binda-Comune di Cittiglio in Italy.

Vos (Rabobank) escaped on the day’s final climb to ride solo for the win. Tatiana Guderzo (MCipollini Giambenini) finished second with Trixi Worrack (Specialized-lululemon) third, just ahead of the chase group.

“It’s always great (to win), but its even more special to win it solo,” said Vos. “For me it was beautiful, I had time to put my hands in the air and time to celebrate.”

Vos will wear the World Cup leader’s jersey into the third round, this Sunday at the Tour of Flanders. The Ronde van Vlaanderen is one of the few races to escape the multiple-time world champion wunderkind.
