Jessica Cutler, Jeremy Powers win North Carolina GP opener

Cutler and Powers prevail in a soggy, muddy opener to the North Carolina Grand Prix race weekend

Jessica Cutler (Bikesport-Jamis) and Jeremy Powers (Rapha-Focus) won round one of the North Carolina Grand Prix on Saturday.

The races were run at Jackson Park in Hendersonville.

In women’s racing, Cutler took the victory ahead of Ally Stacher (Specialized-lululemon) and Allison Arensman (Sophisticated Living-Bob’s Red Mill).

Powers claimed the men’s race in front of Tim Johnson (Cannondale-Cyclocrossworld.com) and Troy Wells (Clif Bar).

Racing continues on Sunday.
