Alejandro Valverde (Movistar) retained the overall lead by a margin of seven seconds over Juergen Van den Broeck (Lotto-Belisol).
Wednesday’s third and final stage will take the peloton 182.7 kilometers from Lucena to Rincon de la Victoria.
