Juan José Haedo (Saxo Bank) was victorious Monday in the Rund um Köln, out-kicking local favorite André Greipel (HTC-Columbia) in the one-day race in western Germany.
It’s Haedo’s second win at the German race, with his 2007 win heralding his arrival to the European circuit in his first season with the then-CSC squad.
The victory is Haedo’s third on the 2010 season and his second inside a week. He won the final stage at the Volta a Catalunya last month, where he nipped another German sprinter – Robert Forster (Milram) – to snag his first European victory of the year.
