Guillaume Boivin (Team Canada) earned a victory in stage 2 at the Tour de Beauce on Wednesday.

Boivin, who held off Matthias Friedemann (Champion System) and stage 1 winner Jasper Stuyven (Bontrager) in a bunch sprint, now leads the overall standings at the six-day race in Quebec.

The 152-kilometer stage featured two rated climbs in the latter half of the course before ending with three circuits in Thetford-Mines.

Thursday’s 164km stage 3 is a day for the climbers in the field, with three categorized ascents sprinkled in — including one at the finish.

The race ends Sunday in Saint Georges, Quebec.
