LUXEMBOURG (AFP) — Jakob Fuglsang (RadioShack-Nissan) secured the overall at the Tour of Luxembourg on Sunday. Jurgen Roelandts (Lotto-Belisol) won the final stage.

With dangerous, wet conditions, organizers neutralized the general classification on the first pass of the finish line on the finishing circuits in Luxembourg City. The stage victory remained up for grabs, but Fuglsang secured the overall win with 47km to race.

Roelandts attacked solo from the breakaway and stormed to a rainy win.

“I think the organization made the right decision by ending the GC battle at that point,” said Fuglsang. “There was a real risk of crashes and everyone was nervous to stay upright. Our team kept control of the chase behind Jurgen Roelandts, who was alone at the front.”
