Spanish rider David Blanco won the Tour of Portugal on Sunday for the fourth time in his career.

The 35-year-old from Palmeiras Resort-Prio-Tavira won two stages and finished second in the decisive individual time trial to claim the overall title. Spanish riders rounded out the podium of Portugal’s most important stage race, with David Bernabeu (Barbot-Siper) finishing second at 37 seconds back and Sergio Pardilla (Camiooro) third overall at 1:49 back.

Blanco has spent most of his career racing with Portuguese teams, except for a three-year run with Comunidad Valencia. He won the race outright in 2006 and 2008, and was awarded last year’s victory after the disqualification of Nuno Ribeiro for doping.

Portuguese sprinter Candido Barbosa completed the party for Palmeiras Resort-Prio-Tavira by taking the final sprint in the 10th and final stage.
