Boubnenkova cemented her overall win three days later, with a win in the 19.7km stage 6 time trial in Suno, near Lake Maggiore in northern Italy, where she beat Lithuanian Rasa Polikeviciute (Acca due O-Pasta Zara) by 11 seconds and Australia’s Anna Millward by 13 seconds. Diana Ziliute (Acca due O-Pasta Zara) finished fourth on the time trial to move into second overall, with Stahurskaia dropping to fifth. On stage 8, however, Stahurskaia reclaimed second position when she and Boubnenkova broke clear on the difficult 101km circuit in Barzago, with Stahurskaia taking the win. Lithuanian Edita Pucinskaite finished third on the day and moved into third overall to round out the final podium. Not only were the top three from Russia, Belarus and Lithuania, but only a ninth-place finish by Rosalisa Lapomarda of Italy prevented an all-eastern-Europe top 10.
