Ben Berden (Raleigh-Clement) staged a repeat performance on Sunday, the second day of the Gateway Cross Cup in St. Louis.
Berden powered to victory in 59:36, with Zach McDonald (Rapha-Focus) finishing in 1:00:10 for second and Cody Kaiser (California Giant-Specialized) taking third with the same time.
Berden won the opening race on Saturday ahead of McDonald and Troy Wells (Clif Bar).
In the women’s race, Elle Anderson (California Giant) rebounded from a fourth-place finish on Saturday to win Sunday’s finale in 43:14. Amanda Miller (Tibco-To The Top), who won Saturday’s race, finished with the same time as Anderson but placed second. Courtenay McFadden (Cycling Northwest) was third in 43:28.
