Huang wins Tour of Chongming Island stage 1

Taiwan's Ting Ying Huang wins stage 1 in Chongming, ahead of Leah Kirchmann and Chloe Hosking.

Taiwan’s Ting Ying Huang won stage 1 of the Tour of Chongming Island Friday, in China. Canadian Leah Kirchmann (Liv – Plantur) was second, and Chloe Hosking (Wiggle – High5) took third in the 139.8km opening day of the Women’s WorldTour race.

Huang, 25, has been successful so far in 2016, with four UCI podium finishes and one other victory, stage 2 of the Women’s Tour of Thailand. She was riding for her national team Friday, coming off a stint in the U.S., where she raced the Joe Martin Stage race.

Saturday’s second stage runs 112.8km around the Chinese island.
